Manufacturing appeals to candidates who enjoy engaging with the functional and tangible properties of manufacturing. The product range is vast: from highly sophisticated microchips to large ocean liners. Cars, tennis rackets, tables, iPads, TVs, washing machines, telescopes, shoes, garments, toothpaste, drugs, tower cranes... The processes are diverse. Some are labour intensive whilst others use mainly robots for precision and highly repetitive applications.

Manufacturing needs highly skilled designers and engineers and the technology requires constant development to compete in today's global markets.
